This is a variation of traditional Lomi Lomi massage.  It is a very relaxing rhythmic massage using forearms and constant contact.  Since this is the spa version, it is done on a bare table that is oiled so the therapist can easily slide their hands and arms under the body.  The client is draped with a towel so there is no extra fabric to get in the way of the flow.

Protocols for the face use the small cups to vacuum and lift the facial tissue, mimicking the pumping movements of lymphatic drainage.

The benefits include increased local circulation of the skin, increased nutrients brought to the epidermis, and enhanced absorption of facial topicals. The drainage of stagnant fluids from reservoir areas will reduce edema and chronic puffiness.

Lines, wrinkles and will plump whereas scar tissue will soften from the negative pressure. The muscles of the face benefit greatly from the reduction of tension and tightness, releasing expression lines and loosening rigid muscles associated with TMJ disorders.

Sinus infections and inflammation are also directly relieved by the loosening and draining effects of the cups - many times resolving issues that many sufferers commonly turned to more radical procedures to correct.

Traditional Thai Table Massage

Thai massage is typically done on a mat on the floor, but it can also be done on the table.  The client is fully clothed and the therapist uses stretches and compressions that can assist with body mobilization.  It also helps to increase energy and range of motion, and lengthen muscles so that the joints move freely.  No oil or cream is used and loose comfortable clothing is worn.

Facial Cupping

This treatment uses glass cups to vacuum across the skin, or mimic the pumping movements of lymphatic drainage. This procedure is simply a manual method using the cups on the face, neck and décolleté. The benefits include increased local circulation to the skin, stimulating natural elasticity along with enhanced assimilation of ampoules, masks and serums. Vacuum therapy on the face is remarkable for relieving sinus congestion and for draining stagnant fluids to ease puffiness, while eyebrows often actually lift back up to the brow line! The muscles of the face benefit greatly from reduced tension and tightness, easing expression lines and loosening rigid muscles associated with TMJ disorders. Lines, wrinkles and scar tissue will soften with this technique. It is also a perfect preparation and recovery protocol for any facial surgeries.
